Training and Qualification

AAOC training is proficiency-based and designed to help every member progress from initial orientation to mission leadership.

Phase I — Command Orientation

1. Complete registration and confirm your profile, home base, and primary division.
2. Review the code of conduct, PIREP standards, and event communications.
3. Install and test the supported ACARS client before your first tracked sortie.

Phase II — Aircraft Qualification

1. Select one of the twelve active aircraft qualifications.
2. Review division procedures, normal operations, and mission limitations.
3. Complete a familiarization sortie and submit an accurate PIREP.
4. Request qualification review from training staff.

Phase III — Mission Progression

Build experience through accepted hours and sorties. The rank ladder progresses from Cadet Aviator through Command Pilot, while aircraft ratings record mission eligibility.

PIREPs

Use ACARS whenever practical. Manual PIREPs remain available for supported simulators or approved exceptions and are reviewed before acceptance. Include a concise remark when weather, diversions, disconnects, or operational abnormalities affect the flight.

Training Safety

All AAOC activity is virtual. Never attempt to reproduce simulated procedures in real-world aviation without appropriate real-world instruction and authorization.
